Have you heard of the Quiltmaker’s Scrap Squad? QM’s Scrap Squad is a team of eight select readers. They take one pattern from each regular issue of Quiltmaker and create scrappy versions. The quilt pictured here is Donna Amos’ version of Hip to Be Square by Elizabeth Dackson, featured in the Jan/Feb issue of Quiltmaker. She used EQ7 to help her recreate the design and colors. Thanks Donna! Visit the Quitlmaker blog to see Donna’s process.

We like taking some antique quilts that Penny owns and updating them with fresh fabrics and modern quilting techniques in EQ7. We had updated this schoolhouse antique quilt and then sent them to Quiltmaker where they made yet ANOTHER version of this classic quilt! This article provides a lot of ideas and education. You’ll find a mini-EQ7 lesson in the side bar and even better a FREE EQ7 project download of this quilt on the Quiltmaker website! Go get it! You might remember another of our antique quilt EQ7 updates in the 2011 August | Sept issue of Quilters Newsletter.

EQ Printable Ornaments – An Oldie but a Goodie!

Posted 12-09-2011 by Sarah | Posted in: Uncategorized

Some of you might remember this post from 2008 but it’s worth passing on again. These EQ Printables ornaments just crack me up! I love them. Carol Skrube, from Sheboygan, WI made these for her kids using the Lawn fabrics. What a fun idea for gift tags! So I contacted Carol to find out if she had made ornaments for this year and sure enough, she did! Only this time she went all out and created a wall hanging. that included 14 ornaments printed on EQ Printables. One for each person in her family. They ornaments simply Velcro to the tree so she can easily update the photos each year.
