The International Quilt Festival of Ireland is being held June 8-10 in The Quilter’s Village, located at National University of Ireland, Galway campus. It will be filled with quilting classes, craft workshops and quilting vendors. One of those lectures will be from an EQ7 users, quilt designer, and DoYouEQ Artist, Marlene Oddie! Her lecture will be Friday, June 8, 10-11am. Marlene will be showing you an informative overview about using EQ7 on a large projector screen. Plus, she will be giving away an EQ7 to one lucky attendee so be sure to show up to this lecture with you will be at the show. Make this Quilt designed by Marlene! Click here to see Marlene’s EQ7 tutorial on how to make her “Spinner” quilt using the EQ 2011 BOM blocks. Get the blocks free onMyEQBoutique.com. Or if you don’t have EQ7, you can link the collection to EQ7 to help you make this quilt.

Jenny Makes Stuff… cute stuff!

Posted 05-24-2012 by Sarah | Posted in: Uncategorized

On Jenny Makes Stuff, we found this really creative iPhone cover she designed in EQ7. It’s so darling and such a creative use of EQ7 that we had to show you. Jenny writes, “I’ve had the case for a few weeks and just couldn’t decide on a design I wanted to stitch. I used EQ7 to work up some of my ideas. Not the program’s intended use, but still fun! And it’s much less time-consuming than trying to work out a bunch of designs on graph paper. I made a quilt layout with the same number of blocks as the phone case had cross stitch spaces (for mine, it was 22 wide x 43 high).” Read more on her blog. So creative, Jenny! I hope we see more of these in purses everywhere.

We were glad to here from EQ user, Catherine Cherrier that her EQ designed Grand-Mother Flower Quilt took “Favorite” in a recent judging! (see her quilt in the Quilt Gallery too. Quilt 273, Hexagons.). Catherine writes, “I just want to let you know that I entered my grand-mother flower in the CQQ salon and Mrs Wintle choose my quilt as her favorite. I’m so happy and want to thank the EQ family because without your amazing software there is no way I could of won that prize”. Congratulations, Catherine and thank you for sharing your wonderful news.
