Karen K. Stone is known world-wide for her stunning award-winning quilts. Perhaps her best-loved design is the dazzling New York Beauty, included on this CD along with 10 other popular Karen K. Stone patterns. Karen began quiltmaking in 1986,
teaching in 1990, and publishing her designs in 1993. Her quilts have won numerous awards, including first prizes in international competitions. Her Indian Orange Peel (included in the 2004, Karen K. Stone Quilts CD-ROM*) received the People’s Choice Award at Quilt National ’95. In 2009 her Clam Session quilt was awarded “Master of Innovative Artistry” at the 2009 International Quilt Festival. Her mastery of color and design inspired a pattern book, Karen K. Stone Quilts, published by The Electric Quilt Company.
Karen is as vibrant and interesting as her quilt designs and we guarantee you’ll experience a sense of pride and joy as you complete each quilt.

It’s a little hard to tell, but are some of these quilts the same as the ones in the first edition EQ software or are they all new??

Hi Linda,
The quilts on this CD are all different from the quilts on the first Karen Stone CD. However, there are two quilts on this new CD that appeared in the Karen K. Stone Quilts BOOK (Summer Star and Delirious).

Hi Brenda,
If you have EQ7, you can use the Karen Stone add-on products and print your own patterns. Unusual Lonestar 2 and Wild Women are both patterns in the Karen K. Stone More Quilts product: http://electricquilt.com/online-shop/karen-k-stone-more-quilts/

What Karen Stone pattern would be good starter pattern?? Just learning paper piecing and love Karen’s quilt patterns. But they look quite intimidating, presently sewing Judy Niemeyers patterns.

Hello Carol,
I would look at one of her patterns with fewer pieces. From her first product (http://electricquilt.com/online-shop/karen-k-stone-quilts-add-on/), I would consider Rattlesnake or even Lady Liberty Goes to Hawaii. From the second product (http://electricquilt.com/online-shop/karen-k-stone-more-quilts/), Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues or Summer Star.
Keep in mind, both of our Karen K. Stone downloads require EQ7 to access the quilt projects.
Best wishes,
Jenny @ EQ

I Karen:
I need your email. Want to enter the New York Beauty in the Paducah show, either this fall or next spring, and need your approval since it’s your pattern. I’d be happy to send you a picture of it. We love it. It hangs in our family room as contains the focal colors. My email is Caschwankl@msn.com. Thanks.
