This quilt started out as a Club EQ challenge about three years. The background is the same shattered glass technique I used in the Dove of Peace and both of these quilts hang in our sanctuary. Sometimes as you work with a quilt, it really tells you want to do. I liked the silhouette idea in the EQ file, but as I began putting the figure into cotton and silk, they were too flat. They need a lot more detail and color. It was interesting as I began playing with value and hue, I kept saying, where is the light source… and the answer is so true. The Baby is the source of our light!
Merry Christmas!

Hi Jo,
I was captivated by the colours of blue and gold that you have used in your quilting to capture the light . It is a very beautiful stunning quilt. you should be very proud of what you have achieved especially being used for the Lord to create something beautiful for Him and for everyone to enjoy.
God bless.x

So beautiful!! I’m thinking about buying EQ8 because I want to make less traditional quilts (like this one) and maybe design FPP templates. But I am not a very experienced quilter.
Do you have any advice?
Best, Randi
