I made this quilt for the son of a friend of mine. Her husband is being called up to active duty. They are concerned about their young son missing his dad. So I designed a simple Irish Chain quilt but put some special pictures in some of the alternating blocks. Now when he misses his dad he can wrap himself up in his quilt and his dad will be “hugging” him.
