I wondered what would happen if I used part of a clip art image to create another design. I happened to have a clip art fish handy so I traced a portion of the fin then repeatedly cloned and reoriented until I got some interesting designs. It turned out to be like eating peanuts — just one more — but I stopped when I hade drawn eleven.

This quilt uses the blocks Fish Fin 8 through 11. The sashing block is ‘Stripes Bordered Outside 6′ from EQ’s sashing library.

Just think: if I’d had a clip art hippopotamus handy, I’d have totally different designs. I’d also have the stress of desiding how to spell the plural of hippopotamus for the title.
