This quilt uses my ‘Castle Star’ block.  For an alternate block with a nice, ‘empty’ center for embroidery, I drew a sort-of snowball block to piece with added applique ‘points’ on each side.

The embroidery, all by Cactus Punch, is (clockwise from noon) ‘St. Patrick’s Pot O’ Gold’; ‘Trick or Treat’; ’4th of July Bear’; and ‘Santa Bear’.  The fabric used is The Quilter’s Kitchen Collection.

By the way, the ‘Castle Star’ (doesn’t it look like a star surrounded by a moat?) that I think I drew myself might be an example of my reinventing the wheel.  But I couldn’t find this block anywhere else.
