Love Karen K. Stone?

Karen K. Stone’s dazzling quilts have won awards and a legion of fans. Quilters can’t get enough of Karen’s innovative takes on tradition and riotous fabric combinations. Her first EQ add-on includes 10 quilts that you can make just the way she has or edit just the way you would any other quilt in EQ. Karen’s second add-on is the same idea, with more beautiful quilts. Karen’s add-ons open a little differently than some of our other add-ons. First you open EQ8 or EQ7. Then click Open an existing project. Open an existing project tab will be selected. Click on the titles that start with KKS or KKS2. When you find the quilt you want, click OK. The quilt will open to your Quilt Worktable. Now you can recolor it, or edit it anyway you’d like. Although the original is beautiful! Both Karen K. Stone add-ons are on sale today.

The Migration Kit

EQ8 (and EQ7 and EQ Mini) all work on PC and Mac computers. However when you purchase the program you are buying it for Mac OR PC. The good news is that if you want to run your EQ on Mac AND PC you just need to purchase the Migration Kit. The Migration Kit that allows you to run EQ on a PC and a Mac using the license ID and password that came with your original purchase of EQ. The Migration Kit does not issue additional activations. If you are currently running EQ8 on two computers, you will need to deactivate one of them in order to activate EQ8 on the new operating system. Click to learn how. Attn EQ8 owners: An updated version of EQ8 is yours — free! First of all… did you know that you can share your EQ8 designs directly to Facebook?! It’s so easy! Recently, however, Facebook required that we change the way the Share to Facebook feature works in EQ8. This change actually offers more options for your Facebook posts, as well as great quality images of your quilts. Update your EQ8 now: Due to Facebook’s change, your current version of EQ8 will not allow you to use the Share to Facebook feature. You’ll need to update your EQ8 if you’d like to use this feature. As an owner of EQ8, you can update to the newest version (1.0.5.0 for Windows / 3.0.5.0 for Mac) for free. Tracing Images

Tracing images can be tricky. It’s hard to think ahead and make sure that everything drawn on the screen is piecable at the sewing machine. With some practice, it gets easier to create incredible paper-piecing and applique blocks by tracing images. When I was younger I remember going to sewing events most Saturdays with my grandma. Some weeks it was machine embroidery club, block of the month, or just going to a quilt shop to socialize. One week at embroidery club, they showed how to make fabric post cards. I don’t remember much else about the meeting other than the fact that I liked this idea and wanted to make my own. Several years later, my grandma and I took a class at our local quilt shop that taught us how to take the concepts of art quilting and use that to make cards. I have taken what I learned
