A note from Marlene: “A paper pieced project to make a great winter tree trivet. Depending upon its intended use, embellish with your personal favorite colors of ornaments, lights or more snow. Put several together for a table runner!” -Marlene Oddie Download “Winter Tree Trivet” Catch up with Marlene >>

A note from Christa: “Modern Trees is a modern update of a very traditional pattern that I designed over 10 years ago. It’s part of a free quilt along tutorial series on my blog. It looks great in solids or holiday prints and and you can “decorate” your trees however you like!” -Christa Watson Download “Modern Christmas Trees” Catch up with Christa >>

A note from Kimberly: “I love to design quilts using two simple blocks to create a complex-looking, dynamic layout when they are set side by side. And what could be easier to stitch than large half-square triangles and modified Friendship Star blocks? I also love the clever secondary pattern which is a result of putting the Friendship Star blocks together. It looks as though the blocks are interwoven into a fun, holiday swizzle design beautifully framed by large, sparkly star points! Of course this quilt will look great in any non-holiday fabric combination as well, but since I have a bundle of these lovely Moda prints in my stash from last year, what better way to see how beautiful they’d look made up into this festive quilt? Merry Christmas from me to YOU!” – Kimberly Einmo Download “Sugarplum Swizzles” Catch up with Kimberly >>
Christa Quilts: Abacus Sew Along
Posted 09-17-2014 by Jenny | Posted in: EQ Artists
EQ Artist Christa Watson has announced a new sew along on her blog that looks like so much fun! The new quilt is called Abacus and I see so many opportunities to make this quilt your own! PLUS you can download Christa’s EQ7 project for the quilt and play around with the design. Those circles look like a great place to show off some special fabric and it’s easy to import your own fabric images into EQ7! Christa is a wonderful teacher who gives you easy-to-follow tutorials for each step of the quilt. Click here to find the full schedule for the Abacus sew along. The fun starts next week. I hope you’ll join her! If you’re looking for some other quilt projects, check out all of Christa’s Quilt Alongs. She gives you an EQ7 project download for each quilt!
Kimberly Einmo Wins Best Modern Quilt
Posted 09-15-2014 by Jenny | Posted in: EQ Artists
EQ Artist Kimberly Einmo won Best Modern Quilt at AQS Quiltweek in Chattanooga and we couldn’t be happier for her! The prize-winning quilt Fire and Ice was designed in EQ7 and quilted by Judi Madsen. Check out this stunner: And here’s a video interview of Kimberly with Bonnie Browning at the show. They’re both big fans of EQ (and we’re big fans of them too!): Looks like she was having a great time inside the “winner’s circle”. Congratulations Kimberly!
