This contest is closed. We’ve contacted the winner – check your email! We are participating in Christa’s book tour for her new book Machine Quilting With Style. Read below to see how Christa designed her quilts with EQ7 and enter to win the program!! We just love the quilts in this book! And yes, they were designed in EQ7!! EQ Artist, Teacher and Author, Christa Watson tells us about herself, her book and how she uses Electric Quilt design software to create such fantastic quilts. I am super excited about my brand new book, Machine Quilting With Style. It includes 12 complete patterns along with step-by-step instructions on how to quilt them on your home sewing machine. I’ve always enjoyed teaching others the entire process of making a quilt from start to finish, and it thrills me to no end when I help someone conquer their fear of machine quilting.

We love coming across EQ users in quilting magazines… and we also love seeing EQ Artists in quilting magazines! Recently, we spotted three EQ Artists: When I asked Bea Lee if her “Stars at Night” quilt was designed in EQ7, she replied: “Of course it was!!” She also told me she had originally named it “Ghostbusters” and had gone through several renditions of the quilt before deciding on the final design shown in the August/September 2015 issue of Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine. Here are images of her process in EQ7:       When I asked Nancy Mahoney if she used EQ7 to design her featured quilt, she replied, “I use EQ7 to design all my quilts!” If you’ve seen Nancy Mahoney’s “Boxing Match” quilt in the September/October ’15 issue of Quiltmaker magazine, you’d remember it looking like this: What you probably didn’t know is that Nancy’s original EQ7 design was

Anita Grossman Solomon was first introduced to The Electric Quilt while watching the Great American Quilt Show. Penny was featuring EQ1, which Anita thought would solve her problems. Anita watched the show’s credits and called Penny, at home, to ask about the program. Previously, Anita had been making “quilting disasters” by  getting an idea and sewing without a plan. She is happy that EQ does the math for her and says that, “EQ is why I can do what I do.” When Anita began learning EQ she would pick a quilt out a magazine and attempt to reproduce it in EQ. (That’s a great idea and we sometimes have new hires at the office do it, too.) Anita said, “When, as a beginning quilter, I wanted to set blocks on point, I had absolutely no idea what size triangles to cut for the border. I scoured books and magazines for

A note from Bea: “I wanted to create a big “Jesus” in the middle of a table runner and then added an auto border and found the vine border and thought of the John 15:5 bible verse and added that on layer 2. I kept the colors in red and green Christmas colors.” -Bea Lee Download “Jesus” Table Runner Catch up with Bea >>
