We’ve been posting free project to our Quilt Design Wizard page for over ten years! They also open in EQ6 and EQ7. There’s over 120 free projects including free digital fabric and blocks! Here are a few of my favorite wintery ones. Enjoy!

Bea Lee is hosting another Blog Hop. Last time was a lot of fun, so I decided to do it again. Everyone is posting tutorials and project downloads. Bea is doing an EQ7 giveaway too! Here are my blocks I drew. You can download the EQ7 project here. And now for the tutorial. We’ll start with the pie block. To make the outside crust, I started with the Polygon   tool.I drew an octagon and clicked Add Nodes  .I clicked Converted Lines to Curves .I used the blue handles to adjust the curves. Once I had a outside crust shape I liked, I used the Oval tool to draw the top crust.

EQ user Evelyn Townsend recently emailed us with a project to share.   Evelyn says, “I designed the table runner project for the Friendship Circle chapter of the Richmond Quilt Guild.  We were in the third and final month of a three month “Purge and Splurge” challenge in which members were challenged to use fabrics from their stash that had a fall theme.  Since I am the program director, I thought a simple table runner would be a good project to use the fall fabrics.  I taught the class using the paper piecing technique since both log cabin and flying geese blocks can be challenging to piece accurately.  I did some fabric painting on my when I finished the quilting.”         Here is the finished quilt. We’ve been doing Free Quilt Design Wizard projects for 10 years! If you are not familiar with them, you should check them out. Especially since they can also be opened in EQ6 and EQ7. We also give you 20-30 free fabrics every month, a few free blocks and a cute little project (usually designed by me). For our 10th anniversary I’ve collected some of my favorite autumn downloads.
