EQ7 Mystery Quilt in The Canadian Quilter – Part 2

  The Canadian Quilterhas written a great multi-part series, making a Mystery Quilt with EQ7. In May they published the first installment. It talks about fabrics – including importing your own fabrics, downloading them from manufacturers websites (Northcott has a button right on their site!) and installing our free fabric downloads, amongst other things. You can read more about it here. Now, the Autumn 2014 issue is out. It covers lots of topics including saving, opening and renaming projects and quilts. The Author, Lauren MacDonald, talks about icons and the different worktables. She also covers saving personal fabric libraries, and more!

We try to make learning and using our software as easy and enjoyable as we can. That includes offering as much help as possible! We have a help section of our website… There are help, videos and lessons included in EQ7. We have lessons listed on our site including videos and lessons from our users.We also have a youtube channel with more videos. You can search for an EQ class close to you. And, our tech support is happy to help. You can contact them online or call at 419-352-1134. A real person answers the phone! We are here 9-5 EST time Monday through Friday. Modern Quilts Unlimited Summer Issue

The summer issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited is now available! It’s chocked full of Electric Quilt goodies, designers and information! Patio by Jennifer Schifano Thomas of Curlicue Creations is included. The quilt is so cute! She designed it in EQ7. Jennifer says, “My design process usually starts the old fashioned way, with pencil and paper. After that, I take it to the EQ design program and that’s where my ideas really bloom! Patio started out as just some simple blocks with yellow rectangles. It was ALL yellow in the beginning. I changed the block design, until I was happy with that (I especially like the look this quilt has where the corners of the blocks come together). Check out the Spring 2014 issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited. I’ve written an article about making modern floral quilts in EQ7. It talks about photo editing, drawing applique blocks and foundation blocks, photo patchwork quilts, using photos in quilts and more!
