Welcome to the EQ8 Block Spotlight! Each month we highlight a block from the EQ8 Block Library with a few design ideas. Then we want you to show us what you can do with the block. We hope these posts will inspire you to try something new and expand your EQ skills! :-D

Don’t forget to comment on other quilter’s designs too. Let’s build each other up!

This month’s block: Lily Wreath

Design ideas to spark your creativity

My first quilt is a 3 x 3 on-point layout with two borders.

The Lily Wreath block is pretty busy. So I wanted to pair it with a simpler block. On the Block Worktable, I removed the flowers from the four corners of the block to create this variation:

My second quilt this month is a 3 x 3 horizontal layout.

This time, I edited the Lily Wreath block to extend the center kite patches to form star points. Then drew another block with a similar center star to alternate with the edited Lily Wreath.

What would you design with the Lily Wreath block? Post a quilt or two in the comments below. It can be as simple or as complex as you’d like (it just has to use the featured block!).
