Once again, we only have great things to say about our EQ Academy workshop.
This was our first time hosting a fall workshop in Ohio, and we did so at the request of the students who came in the Spring. We had 61 students in total and what a fun bunch they were! The Getting Started classes were maxed out and, boy, did those students learn A LOT! It’s always exciting to see how much the beginner students improve during the time they’re here.
The intermediate classes got to dive into extensive block design and custom quilts which is always fascinating. And the rest of the classes focused on specific things, like importing fabrics and drawing custom blocks and creating modern designs. Our students are SO creative and we love to see that shine through during class.
As always, we saw some familiar faces and met lots of new EQ users too. We really enjoy seeing EQ Academy “alumni” and meeting new students.
We hope that the fall students return in the Spring to learn even more about their EQ8! We’ll have beginner classes as always, and some fun, intermediate ones as well. Feel free to leave comments below – we’d love to hear from you!
If you’re interested in coming to EQ Academy, sign up for our Special Offers e-mail list to be notified of enrollment. Spring EQ Academy is scheduled for early April, 2019. More details to come!
A huge thank you to the companies who sent items for the welcome bags! The students went home with awesome goodies!

As a beginner student, I was amazed at how confident I was about using the software at the end of the class. I also took the draw class and came home with an interest to trace a picture. Is there a tutorial for this feature or is it part of the classes offered in the Spring?
Thank you.

I am also, a beginner and I am amazed at how much more confident I am with the software after getting home. I already have my first original design in and am so pleased at how much easier it is than pen and paper!! I can’t wait to go back to EQ Academy to learn more. My instructor, Lori Miller was wonderful! Also we were lucky enough to have the editor of the EQ8 Manual, Diane McEwen Martin assist Lori in our class. It’s not every day you have two expert pros in a the room to answer your questions on the spot!!

The classes were outstanding! I came home confident of what I knew and also confident of where and how to find information when I came to a question. I think that last is what makes me most comfortable with designing in the future! Looking forward to the Spring Session and learning more!

This was my first time to attend EQ Academy, but, hopefully, it will not be my last. Had a great time and learned a lot. All of the teachers were wonderful. I especially enjoyed Sara and Jenny.

I took the offset design class with Sara and Matt. Never had a class before and I don’t have any quilting pals, so it was a new foray for me. Had so much fun, learned so much; went right home and designed a beautiful quilt that I would post here if I could using fabric I had scanned some time ago. Now, it all comes together. I would definitely come to another class. Thanks!
