Hello and welcome to my stop on the 100 Blocks Blog Tour! This is my first 100 Blocks issue and I’m so excited to be a part of the fun! My block even made the cover:

Here it is a little closer, #825 Starry Path Redux:

When I started thinking about designing a block for the magazine, I went to the EQ7 Block Library to look for inspiration. A block called Starry Path caught my eye:

(Now you know where the name came from!)

EQ7 has a fun feature called Serendipity that allows you to create new blocks without drawing. The feature uses blocks you’ve saved in the Sketchbook as a starting point to create new block designs. There are 7 Serendipity tools to choose from: Frame Block, Tilt Block, Merge Blocks, Clip & Flip Block, Shrink & Flip Block, Kaleidoscope Block, and Fancy Star Block. There are lots of options within each tool, so the possibilities for new blocks seem endless!

My Starry Path Redux block is a result of using the Clip & Flip Block tool. Here are some of the other possibilities created with Starry Path + Clip & Flip:

And here are some more designs using the same Starry Path block and the other Serendipity tools:

So many designs and they all start from the same block!

Thanks for visiting during the Blog Tour! I’ll be starting a new EQ7 Jump Start Sew Along here on our blog on May 5th (click here for more details). I hope you’ll join in the fun!
