We saw Gyleen Fitzgerald at Quilt Market this month. She showed us her new, spectacularly-photographed book called “Quilts: Unfinished Stories with New Endings.” And guess what? All 10 quilts were drafted with EQ6!

Here’s what Gyleen says:

“How do I begin to describe this book? Let’s start with beautiful color photography of finished quilts in a garden setting. Oh, did I mention I started with “unfinished” vintage tops and blocks and added only new fabric from my stash to finish each one? Then as if that weren’t enough, Quilts features old black and white photographs of everyday people celebrating life. It gives you the feeling that you’re holding a scrapbook of memorabilia. And then there are the letter which could have been penned in the 1930s’ which reflect life and making quilts. Whew! That’s just the first section.

In Quilts, I openly discuss how each quilt was designed and finished, and included instructions for 10 quilts from the book. All 10 quilts were drafted using EQ6! Yes, I still do EQ!

The most interesting part of transforming vintage blocks into quilts was remaking them using today’s techniques. Amazing that with all our current technology of rotary cutters and rulers some pieced blocks like Feathered Star and Beautiful Star are faster to cut out using old fashion paper templates and scissors! Therefore, by using EQ6 you can easily size the block to your preference.”

Congratulations Gyleen!
