This was drawn by tracing an image from a Dover book on geometric designs (I LOVE those books!) It was challenging to get the easydraw and patchdraw to work together but I managed it. I took Carol Soderlund’s class at Prochem and used the knowledge obtained there to dye the tones and shades used in the center as well as the primary colors in the outer curves. In the process of making this I discovered machine back basting. I drew the applique design (curves) on the back and basted the fabrics down, one at a time, and then needle turned the applique. The center rings were done using Barb Vlack’s wonderful freezer paper piecing method.
