October 2016 Challenge

“We can never have too many blocks. Submit two copyright free blocks, ones you designed, that are not presently in the EQ Block Library or in any EQ product. You may demonstrate how to use them in a quilt, but you don’t have to. Submitting the two blocks will be terrific. Any kind of block is eligible. Please put a note on the Notecard to identify you as the designer and tell us something about why you designed this particular block.”

Barb Vlack, from St. Charles, Illinois, wears many hats well when it comes to knowing and using EQ software. She is a moderator on the EQ web site’s EQ Forum, and also serves as “challenge master” for monthly Club EQ design challenges which have inspired EQ users worldwide to learn more about the software. She has taught hands-on EQ classes at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas, the American Quilt Society show in Paducah, Kentucky, and other national quilt shows. She authored three books published by The Electric Quilt Company: Too Much Fun! (1997), EQ4 Magic (1999) and EQ5 Quilt Design (2003). She is also  well-loved as an “EQ Guru” on the EQ maillists.
