We drove through a portion of Monument Valley forty-some-odd years ago.  A real gift to all of us are the movies filmed there, especially the John Ford westerns filmed in the mid-twentieth century.  These movies were new when I was just a spring chicken myself.

Let’s all pause while we feel old …

I knew what I wanted as my quilt subject but the enormity of the project intimidated me.  When I decided on using just a portion of a photo of The North Window, I was in business.

I had great fun drawing the block for this quilt.  I also had fun using the thread-color tool to soften all the edges. It might have been better but I finally made myself stop having fun because I was running out of month.
