I had the first incarnation of this quilt top designed in EQ based on a quilt I saw online from the Infinite Variety exhibit by the American Folk Art Museum. It used plain alternate blocks, coupled with the Drunkard’s Path block; but the one in the exhibit was white with red instead of the red with white that I prefer.

When Linda Franz (www.inklingo.com) introduced the two new Inklingo Sunflower Collections, I knew the 12″ Sunflower would be the perfect alternate block to go with my first EQ design. Linda then created an EQ Sunflower block based on the Inklingo Sunflower collections and encouraged her Yahoo Group members to participate in this month’s Red & White EQ Club challenge. This is my new layout using the 6″ & 12″ Inklingo Sunflower Collections.

This is the first time I’ve participated in an EQ Club challenge.

The state flower for Kansas is the sunflower so I named this quilt Kansas.
