Keiko once lived next door to us for a short time in the early 90′s. She and her husband had immigrated to Ireland from Japan and they were expecting their first child. You couldn’t help but notice Keiko’s spontaneous personality and her friendliness.
One Christmas she presented each of the neighbours with a hand crafted card she had made and inside was a message of joy for us. Each card was a work of art and was an original from the next, decorated with pretty orgami folded papers that she did. Keiko’s generous spirit affected everyone and brought out the best in everybody she met. I remember her kind and gentle way. It was very sad that she unfortunately had a miscarriage. They went home when she got the news that her mother wasn’t well. I hope they are both well today and have the family they wanted so much.
