Graduate-school graduation was celebrated in Lipica, Solvenia with a riding lesson on a Lipizzaner.

I traced an applique of my 2008 photo of a horse statue in a fountain in Lipica, Solvenia. (called Lipizza in Italian)

This stud farm is one of the two original breeding farms for the original development of the Lipizzaners. Babies are born dark brown, change to gray at about a year old, and then turn white. US General Patton (with the help of others) saved the breed during WWII. They are truely graceful and majestic beasts. The stallion barn has 3 foot thick walls with an almost constant temperature of 50 degrees.
